Q. Entrance to home is from east, kitchen is on south, bedroom on south west, living room on south east, dining room on north west. what would be the ideal application of vaastu to the kitchen.
A. The basic things to be kept in mind should be as follows: The gas stove in the south east corner of the kitchen, As this zone is the fire zone, The person should face the east side while cooking. Drinking water should be in the north east of the kitchen, as this zone is water zone and only water cooler, fridge...should be kept in the north-east.. Sink should be in the south portion of the kitchen.Q. What is Vaastu Shastra?
A. Vaastushastra a science which deals with the creation of a harmonious energy field in a structure. In general terms it is a science of structures and to derive the benefits from it and to cherish it.In all it is a science apart from the notion that Vaastu has any thing to do with religion, rituals , astrology, numerology or may be psychosymbiology.....Relating the subject with superstitions in whichever manner, can only hamper the widespread of this wonderful and valuable phenomenon or the science/art. A. Vaastu Shastra is a science. In the age when it was formulated, the society was largely illiterate, the illiteracy generating a fear of the unknown. Science was beyond the realm of their understanding while religion was omnipresent. It was therefore simpler for the ancient Vaastu experts to spread the concepts of the Vaastu Shastra through the intricate network of religion and superstition. Unfortunately as time passed, only the superstitious filtered down the generations, while the actual theory eluded the world.Q. Does Feng-shui has any thing in common with Vaastushastra?
A. Actually feng-shui is a Chinese version of Vaastushastra, Both are based on different theories. feng-shui considers two factors viz..; air and water while Vaastushastra, considers five factors the "panch-maha-bhutas".Q. What is better, Feng-shui or Vaastushastra?
A. People have a tendency to adopt which ever comes from foreign land & they tend to follow it blindly with out knowing a thing about the concept. If in Hindu religion we have thousands of gods or if Christianity proclaims of no idolism & Islam believes in no pictures and just the image of "Allah" in their minds, Then why do we need those frogs with red eyes, or something like dragons, which have no resemblance or identity in animal kingdom. One important thing to ponder is, our life does not change for good, by keeping any good signs or something like that, every thing has to be justified.Q. Does Vaastu Shastra promise prosperity?
A. No, not really. Vaastu Shastra cannot be directly linked with prosperity. It only suggests ways in which we can live in tune with the laws of nature, so that we can be healthy and peaceful and work efficiently. The ancient texts of Vaastu Shastra have probably claimed to bring prosperity, as an indirect consequence or being able to perform well at home and work.Q. What is the role of religion in Vaastu Shastra?
A. Vaastu Shastra is a science a process - it has very less to do with religion. It is true that over the years Vaastu Shastra has swallow religious hint. It dates back to hundreds of years when every one was god fearing and as Vaastushastra brings good things to lives of people it became a practice to add religion or god so that people could practice Vaastushastra.Q. Which deity is worshiped in Vaastu Shastra?
A. Religious icons have no place in science. The ancient text of Vaastu Shastra did mention various Gods from Hindu mythology for fixing their locations on the site and prescribing the offerings to be made to them. Their are no idols to be worshiped,Q. What is the significance of the Vaastu Purusha?
A. The 'Vaastu Purusha' is said to be the spirit of the site. It's in the form of a human male and lies on the site with his head towards the east, his posture fitting exactly in a square. It was easier to get the architecturally and aesthetically correct dimensions of rooms, doors windows and even the structural members like plinth and pillars. Even the interior planning was governed by the posture of the 'Vaastu Purusha' and the norms which specified where and how the structure must be built, so that it does not injure him.Q. Is Vaastu shastra relevant in the modern world?
A. part from the concept of belief and weather modern technology accepts the base of the Vaastu Shastra, Today's architects use the consent of Vaastu expert and implement bylaws of the same.Q. Whether Vaastu defects are corrected by means of additions / alterations in the structure of a building?
A. It is certainly not mandatory that rectification by additions / alterations to the structures is necessarily required; But can be corrected by maybe changing locations according to positive directions or consulting Vaastu experts.Q. How does Vaastu Shastra work in apartment blocks?
A. It is a fact that the original Vaastu tenets prescribed the type of site and then specified the layout materials and construction techniques. In an urban milieu, one can hardly indulge in choosing dwelling sites. Thus the macro level implications can be successfully adapted to contemporary needs.Q. How can Vaastu Shastra be applied to the commercial and industrial premises?
A. The original scripts of Vaastushastra were restricted to the architecture of temples, places and homes of the common herd. However, those very standards can be easily applied to other structures such as offices and industries. So if, facing a particular direction brings in negative solar energy, the large machinery may be kept there to block it.Q. What if it is not possible to implement all the changes recommended by a Vaastu consultant?
A. It must first be noted that Vaastu Shastra is not a religion it's a science and it has it's own virtues It does not intend to scare any one. Vaastu Shastra is the science of structure, formulated to help us live in tune with nature. It does not give solutions to your domestic or financial problems. A Vaastu consultant assesses your home or work place, and suggests changes that will improve it's Vaastu fulfillment. If the assessment has been done in a systematic manner, it is obvious that implementing the more negative elements should yield substantially positive effects. Very often, merely changing the orientation of the interior fixture helps in achieving a Vaastu-positive environment.
